Hospital

Bath Engineering Corporation was selected to design three significant projects for University Medical Center of El Paso and El Paso Children's Hospital.  These projects had a combined value more than $250,000,000.

The scope of work included a new ten-story hospital tower, renovation of an existing eight-story hospital building, and renovation of the hospital central utility plant.  The 400,000 square feet of new and renovated space created a world-class medical center.  The central plant produces 5,500 tons of chilled water in addition to high and low pressure steam.  A co-generation plant provides power to the complex.

At the same site, Bath designed an infrastructure renovation project to reduce the hospital's energy consumption and improve patient comfort.  This project include replacement of three existing chillers with four high-efficiency certrifugal chillers, replacement of many constant volume air handlers with modern variable speed units, and the conversion of a primary pumping system to a primary-secondary-tertiary system.

Bath also provided building commissioning services for the renovation of two floors of the existing hospital tower.
