Chemical Plant SCADA/HMI

As part of the electrical system design for a chemical plant expansion project, a new SCADA/HMI system was required. Bath provided a complete turnkey solution with an automation and integration services.  The scope of work included:

  • Complete fiber network design to provide looped communication paths
  • System architecture development and specification of automation equipment including security gateways, managed Ethernet switches, automation controllers, and computing platforms for a total of nine local unmanned HMIs fully integrated to a Master HMI
  • Automation controller configuration settings enabling intelligent electronic device (IED) data access, event collection, engineering access, and controls with interface to the associated local HMIs with a total of approximately 357 IEDs and network components integrated throughout the entire system
  • HMI software configuration settings for each local unmanned station to allow close overview of alarms, events, trends, reporting, historical data, and device communications
  • HMI software configuration settings for the Master HMI to provide a worldview of the entire system with navigation to each substation, overall alarms, events, trends, reporting, historical data, and device communications
  • Web server configuration that provides read-only Client access to the system
  • Interface with the Client’s existing historian via an OPC connection
  • On-site startup with end to end interface testing of each substation
