Manufacturing Plant

Cooper Industries retained Bath to design electrical, lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and water treatment systems for a new 428,636 square foot manufacturing facility for Cooper Lighting Mexico S.A. de C.V.

Three water-cooled centrifugal chillers were used to produce 1,390 total cooling tons.  The heating system consisted of three flexible water tube hot water boilers with a total of 1,000 MBH.

The cooling system consisted of 22 variable volume air handling units designed to supply 337,630 cfm of 56 degrees F air to meet the owner¡¦s requirement for a room temperature of 80 degrees F in the manufacturing facility and 74 degrees F in the office space.  The heating coils in the air handling units were selected to maintain a leaving air temperature of 90 degrees F as required to maintain a winter room temperature of 72 degrees F in the manufacturing facility and 74 degrees F in the office space.  A power relief air system was designed to assure a pressure differential in the manufacturing facility of plus or minus 0.05 inches w.c. with respect to outdoors.
