The consolidation of several manufacturing facilities resulted from Hexcel Corporation’s purchase of one of its major international competitors.  Bath Engineering and its design/build partner, James & Luther Construction Co., were selected to relocate large proprietary manufacturing equipment from five sites in four states and two countries to a consolidated facility in Utah.  One of the challenges of this $4.5 million project was the translation of O&M manuals and as-built drawings from French to English.  Bath dispatched an engineering team to France to manage the logistics of disassembling a multimillion dollar machine for shipment to the United States.  Bath’s engineers designed a new control system for the consolidated plant.
