University Wellness Center

This three-story university wellness facility is 82,000 sq. ft.  It contains two NCAA-size basketball courts, two multipurpose rooms for the group fitness classes and sport clubs, and two floors of workout equipment.  The third floor is dedicated to the Emergency Operations Center for the university’s computer servers  Pre-functional and Functional Tests were performed to verify proper installation and operation of equipment and building systems.  

Systems commissioned included a Siemens building automation system (the front-end is located in the physical plant), primary and secondary VFD-controlled pumps for chilled and hot water from the campus central plant, DDC controlled air flow measuring stations, three out-door air handling units with heat recovery wheels utilizing relief air for energy recovery, and an integrated fire alarm/sprinkler system.

The Emergency Operations Center was also commissioned.  It included automatic transfer switches to power computer servers, emergency lighting and other emergency systems, an emergency chiller and pumps, water system, sanitary holding tanks, and computer room air conditioning units.
