Storm Water System
Location: El Paso, TX

Interstate 10 crosses El Paso from east to west. Because it was constructed on an elevated platform, stormwater flowing from the mountain area on the north side cannot cross to the Rio Grande on the south side. Bath was retained to design this major stormwater pump station to releave area flooding.
The project consists of a 12.7 acre-foot stilling basin, a 1.2 acre-foot storm basin, and a 175 cfs pump station with three 500 HP vertical turbine solids handling pumps that connects to a 60-inch forcemain. Components include an 84-inch sluice gate, an emergency generator, a control building, and a SCADA system.
