Texas Behavioral Health Center Commissioning

Bath Group, LLC was contracted in 2022 to provide commissioning services for the new psychiatric hospital located at the UT Southwestern Campus in Dallas, Texas. The project is a partnership between UT Southwestern and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. The hospital is the first state mental health hospital in the Dallas area. The adult wing has 200 beds and the pediatric wing has 92 beds. Additionally, a 684-space car parking structure was included.

This project included the installation of 2,400 tons of cooling tower for 4 chillers. Bath commissioned the system and changed the sequence of operation to allow for the BAS to select the best ratio of cooling towers to the chillers depending on the energy usage of the overall system. This added flexibility and energy savings. Systems commissioned also included a basin cleaning system and reduced blow down based on conductivity.
